Please Breathe!

Online drive to support Russian health professionals and volunteers working selflessly to protect the life and health their patients during the Covid-19 pandemic

Please Breathe! is an expression of the immeasurable debt of gratitude owed to those who have been working on the frontline of the battle against the coronavirus pandemic in Russia and an act of commemoration of their sacrifice.

The breathe.ria.ru website contains photographs and stories of doctors, health workers, staff and volunteers of hospitals and ambulance crews who keep people healthy and save lives throughout the country. We believe that the heroes of this battle cannot go unnamed.

All stories posted on the website were provided by the patients, families, friends, and neighbors of the Please Breathe! heroes. The drive was nationwide from the get-go. It tells hundreds of stories from all over the country: from Magadan to Volgograd, from Yaroslavl and Pavlovsk to the Aksai District in the Rostov Region and the village of Chemodanovka outside Penza. There are stories from Crimea and Ingushetia, cities with million-plus residents such as Novosibirsk and the town of Zeya in the Amur Region with a population of just 23,270.

It’s an open-ended project spearheaded by the Rossiya Segodnya media group with the support of the Ministry of Healthcare and the Moscow Department of Healthcare, the Association of Volunteer Centers of Russia, the Medical Volunteers civil society movement, the ANO National Priorities/стопкоронавирус.рф website, VGTRK and our other information partners.
