Starting today, Sputnik International News Agency and Radio is broadcasting continuously on one of Argentina’s FM frequencies.
Sputnik’s broadcasts can be heard in the country’s capital and suburbs on Concepto FM 95.5, as well as in the provinces of Mendoza and Chubut.
“Radio is one of the most important information sources for Argentinians. Almost 90 percent of them call themselves regular radio listeners, and almost half of these primarily turn on the radio to learn the latest news,” Oleg Vyazmitinov, manager of Sputnik Mundo’s radio service, said.
Sputnik’s Spanish-language radio broadcasts news and interviews with those who shape the agenda both in Argentina and throughout Latin America. The agency’s journalists and guests discuss hot international and regionally significant topics in a studio located just 600 meters from Casa Rosada, seat of the Argentine national government and the president’s official workplace. Special attention is given to correspondents joining from the scene of events across the continent.
“Our content is very popular among Spanish-speaking audiences. Despite the restrictions from Western platforms, the number of Sputnik Mundo’s subscribers is growing constantly, with monthly views already exceeding 52 million. This indicates that people living in Latin America want to listen to and hear voices that are different from the global mainstream media, which has dominated this region for many years,” said Olga Lisogor, Sputnik’s chief executive.
In addition to programs by Sputnik’s Latin American journalists, there will also be interviews prepared by RT en Español.
The Sputnik Mundo editorial team will also use artificial intelligence in its work: brief news stories will be read out at the beginning of every hour by a virtual newscaster.
All programs will be streamed online on the agency’s website and as podcasts on corresponding platforms. Teasers, program excerpts, and guest quotes are also published on the agency’s social media.
Sputnik International News Agency and Radio was launched in 2014. Today, it broadcasts in 23 languages.
The agency has over 150 accounts on social media, with almost 26 million subscribers in total. Weekly views on social media exceed 145 million. The total audience of Sputnik’s radio broadcasting abroad exceeds 210 million people, with 15 editorial centers operating all over the world, from Asia to Latin America.
