Rossiya Segodnya, EEC sign cooperation agreement

The Rossiya Segodnya media group and the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) have signed an agreement on cooperation. The signing ceremony was attended by Dmitry Gruzdev, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the media group, and Daniyar Turusbekov, Director of the EEC Organizational Support and Protocol Department.

Under the agreement, Rossiya Segodnya and the EEC will launch a special project on the climate agenda, the green economy of the EAEU. The project will focus on the goals included in the Strategy for the Development of Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025, such as development of electric vehicles, organic agriculture and much more. The project will be published on the ria.ru website, the flagship outlet of the Rossiya Segodnya media group and leader of Runet, as well as on the national versions of the Sputnik International News Agency and Radio websites in neighbouring countries: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

Director of the EEC Organizational Support and Protocol Department Daniyar Turusbekov noted that the heads of the five countries have repeatedly pointed out the importance of the climate agenda and the green economy in the EAEU. He informed his colleagues that the EAEU heads of government will meet in August 2022 at Lake Issyk-Kul, where a climate forum will also be held.

Daniyar Turusbekov also expressed his gratitude to the Rossiya Segodnya media group for its ongoing effort to highlight Eurasian integration processes and said the Eurasian Economic Commission was open to further cooperation and ready to strengthen partnerships.
